A tall cool drink of Charlie-Zulu

This is one of my new favorite drinks. It uses elderflower spirit, which I tried for the first time a couple of weeks back. It’s kind of strange: it smells like lychee and flowers, but has a citrusy, pear-y taste. Tasted on it’s own, it feels warm and thick.

It can probably be added to so many things but this drink is simple yet good. Friend Zulu helped me build this one, so she gets her name on it. The drink also reminds me of her- it’s warm, yet cool, and tart. Mmm. If it sounds like I’m flirting it’s because that, boys, is how you flirt.

the Charlie-Zulu:

2 oz gin
1 oz elderflower liquor
1/4 lime, squeezed.
soda water
ice

Add the liquors to a tall glass filled with ice. Top with soda water. Squeeze a quarter lime into the glass.

Charlie-Zulu really likes when you add tequila:
